A very rare Russian Silver Medal of 100 years Jubilee of Her Majesty Chevalier Garde Regiment of Impress Maria Feodorovna mother of Nicholas II, sculptor N.Dmitriev, made1899.
1724: creation of a unit escort Catherine I, composed of nobles, called Knights and Guards.
From 1724 to 1740: reformations at coronations, then dissolution
1742: The Horse Guards form a cavalry company, part of the Preobrazhensky regiment. During the reign of Catherine II, they are assigned to guard the palace
1799: January 11 unit becomes permanent under the name of Garde du Corps (Kavalergardia =)
1800: January 11, the unit became the regiment of Chevaliers-Gardes in three squads
From 1805: many Knights of Malta are of service in the Horse Guards
1881: March 2 Empress Maria Feodorovna, wife of Alexander III of Russia, was appointed commander in chief of the regiment
1894: November 2, the unit was renamed: Horse Guards regiment of Her Majesty the Empress
Maria Feodorovna (26 November 1847 – 13 October 1928), born Princess Dagmar of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg and later Princess Dagmar of Denmark, was Empress consort of Russia as spouse of Emperor Alexander III. She was the second daughter of King Christian IX of Denmark and Louise of Hesse-Cassel. Among her children was the last Russian monarch, Emperor Nicholas II, whom she outlived by ten years.
