The most unusual Russian Easter Egg I have ever seen. Excellent condition. According to silver hall mark it was made 1908-1917 in Moscow, but I think that the date of making is from February to October 1917 because of the eagle design.
After the first Russian Revolution, when the tsar was abducted and provisional government took the ruling, the Imperial eagle “lost” the crowns, scepter and derzava in claws which were the symbols of tsar’s power.
The provisional government survived 7 months and was overthrown by Bolsheviks’ October Revolution in 1917.
The stone of egg shape looks to me as rhodonite. 2 white stones look like cut rock crystal. The 4 blue stones look like amethyst, but I can’t guarantee that.
2 lowest suspensions look like natural pearls.
